reforestation

The project region falls within an area known globally as the Fynbos Biome, sometimes used synonymously with the Cape Floral Kingdom, which is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Within this region, areas have been affected by severe drought and a heavy invasion of exotic plants. Plants like Port Jackson dominate freshly burned areas, as they regenerate readily in full-sun conditions, and overtake indigenous growth. This shoot was to document the active clearing and reforestation efforts in these affected areas by reforestation and funded by Hennessy.
